It’s the pleasure of the “Safouryeh association for folklore and return” organization committee to invite you to its fourth annual “Biader Safouryeh” festival, which will be held on 23 – 25 Aug 2007 at “Karm Al-Jemal” garden in “Safouryeh” neighborhood. The festival is planned in coordination with the “Displaced” committee, which is under the sponsorship of Ramez Jariesy, the mayor of Nazareth.
This festival is to confirm the necessity of continuation in affirming our identity; belonging to the land; and collective remembrance. The festival will showcase more than 400 pieces of tools and furniture, which were handed down throughout hundreds of years from Safouryeh and neighboring villages’ residence. These tools are very rare; identifying it and maintaining it is part of our national heritage and education. The festival will also showcase pictures of the displaced villages by the photographer “Makbuleh Nassar”, “Al-Nakbeh” pictures for the Arabic Human Rights organization, and drawings of the Safouryeh refugee “Nahedah Bahar” from Nahr Albared refugee camp.
